We recognise how deeply connected food systems are to the planet’s resources. We regularly report on our progress to ensure our overall ESG targets reflect on our sustainability strategy of delivering better nutrition responsibly. In 2023, we used less energy and water, and aligned to our scope 1 & 2 emissions reduction targets to meet a 1.5 degree temperature pathway.

Glanbia laboratory excellence

In 2022 we completed the upgrade and expansion of laboratory facilities in our GPN Aurora 948 facility, Chicago, as well as initiating a central laboratory project in Idaho to service our GN dairy facilities. The Aurora site conducts over 6,000 routine quality tests per month to assure product label, nutritional and food safety standards are met. The GN central lab in Twin Falls Idaho will have the capacity to process over 30,000 tests per month across our dairy, whey and specialty products and is planning ISO certification for a full microbiological suite of testing.
