Quality and Food Safety in our operations
The Quality Leadership Team (QLT) is Glanbia’s centre of excellence for food safety and quality where policies are developed to ensure standardisation of best practices. In 2023 we continued to ensure 100% of our manufacturing sites hold an externally recognised food safety certification, such as those recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
Our comprehensive food safety and quality programme, the Glanbia Quality System (GQS), is a programme ensuring governance and compliance to the highest standards of food safety and quality. The GQS supports us in meeting our quality and food safety obligations and in keeping the trust of our customers and consumers. In 2023, 95% of our sites were at or better than the GQS benchmark.

2024 priorities
Glanbia is committed to remaining a trusted partner of choice, always ensuring food safety and quality are non-negotiables. In 2024, the QLT’s focus will remain on continuous improvement of processes and procedures in line with industry best practice. Recently acquired businesses will be phased into our GQS standards and auditing programmes as we harmonise our mergers and acquisitions to Glanbia’s best practices.
