Glanbia has committed to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies to improve health and education, reduce inequality and spur economic growth. We have identified six SDGs where we can have the strongest impact through our business activities.

We aligned our material impacts against the following six strategic SDG Goals:

Goal 2
Zero hunger

End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

Goal 3
Good health and wellbeing

Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages. Raise awareness about the importance of good health, healthy lifestyles as well as people’s right to quality health care services.

Goal 5
Gender equality

As an employer of over 5,500 people worldwide, we recognise the importance of diversity and inclusion and are committed to improving gender equality in our workforce.

Goal 8
Decent work and economic growth

Our business brings economic benefits to the communities it operates in, supporting local employment and prosperity.

Goal 12
Responsible production and consumption

Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. Improvements in resource efficiency, consideration of the entire life cycle of economic activities, and active engagement in multilateral environmental agreements

Goal 13
Climate action

We have upgraded Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction targets to meet a 1.5 degrees Celsius temperature pathway and mapped out a decarbonisation plan to meet this ambition by 2030.
