Targets
Reduction by 2030 (2018 baseline)
Intensity reduction in dairy supply chain by 2030 (2018 baseline)
Carbon in our operations
Continuous decarbonisation remains the most ambitious element of our strategy. The Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) has validated our emissions reduction strategy for our GHG emissions reduction targets, including Scope 1 and 2 and our Scope 3 objective for our dairy supply chain.
In 2023 our GHG footprint in Scope 1 and 2 decreased by 15.9% compared to 2022. The proportion of renewables in our electricity supply reached 63% in 2023 representing an 18% increase from the preceding year.

2024 priorities
We are targeting a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 from a 2018 base year. We continue to work towards 100% renewable electricity procurement for our US, Canada, UK and EU operations by 2028.
In 2023, working with industry experts, we invested in an extensive Scope 3 project to deliver a dairy decarbonisation roadmap.
