As we mark Women’s History Month, we are sharing stories from some of our female scientists working at Glanbia.

Birgit O’Connor, Product Strategic Management Director at Glanbia Nutritionals leads the Product Strategic Management of Premix for EMEA. She joined the team two years ago and is based in Orsingen, Germany.

As Product Strategic Manager, Birgit and her team are the interface between the local operations team and the commercial team and are responsible for the development and implementation of both the global and local product strategies.

Our CEO Hugh McGuire, reflects on our Full Year Results 2024. “On behalf of the Glanbia team, I am pleased to report that the Group delivered a strong performance in 2024, driven by growth across our portfolio of better nutrition brands and ingredients. Optimum Nutrition and Isopure, our protein growth brands, delivered double digit volume growth in the year while we saw good growth across our premix and protein ingredient solutions.

With growing demand for beverages that provide added benefits such as enhanced energy, improved hydration, and overall health support, the US functional beverage market continues to expand rapidly, creating new opportunities for brands.

Sorcha McKenna has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer at Glanbia and joins the group executive committee.

In this new role, Sorcha will lead our group-wide transformation programme, aimed at designing a new, fit-for-purpose operating model for Glanbia’s next stage of growth. She will also focus on strengthening Glanbia’s strategic capabilities, partnering with teams across the business.
