As we mark World Food Safety Day on June 7th, and reflect on its theme – Science in Action - we recognise how our shared commitment across all teams and manufacturing sites has elevated our standards, strengthened our systems, and positioned us for continued growth.
In our three divisions - Performance Nutrition, Dairy Nutrition and Health & Nutrition - science plays a central role in assessing and managing food safety risks in our business. In addition to expanding our best-in-class analytical science labs, we have continued investing in advanced x-ray and metal detection technologies at our sites to proactively control foreign material risks. These physical safeguards are complemented by robust environmental monitoring programmes, custom-tailored to address and control microbiological hazard profiles at each facility.
Our Glanbia Quality System (GQS) remains the backbone of our food safety governance. Through structured self-assessments, internal audits, and executive-led reviews, we validate not only compliance with standards but also a culture rooted in accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Site performance is benchmarked using a tiered model which provides transparency and a consistent framework for identifying and acting on opportunities for improvement.
