We aim to strengthen the communities in which we live and work by providing safe and inclusive workplaces, by building sustainable supply chains and by delivering programmes that give back directly to our communities.

In Kilkenny, Ireland, Glanbia supports a  local clean up partnership with Kilkenny County Council. The local authority coordinates an annual Team Up To Clean Up: Together for Kilkenny event which sees hundreds of local groups and businesses take to the streets of the city to help clean up the city and county environment.

This year's event takes place on the 21-22 September. Glanbia will receive litter picking packs, which employees can take to clean up their local community at home or alternatively, they can take part in an organised volunteering team, which will clean up a specific area of the community near our workplace.

We continue to spread the message that a litter free environment is beneficial for health and well-being, community spirit and environmental sustainability. Team Up To Clean Up: Together for Kilkenny supports changing the mindset and behavioural change necessary to combat ongoing issues around litter and waste.

Last year over 200 groups with more than 500 volunteers, registered and took to their respective housing estates, surrounding roads, ditches and laneways to clean up and litter pick. This resulted in over 24 tonnes of litter being collected.

Glanbia is proud to be part of this important community work which promotes a better environment for all in which to live and work. Find out more on how we aim to strengthen the communities in which we live and work here
