Southwest Cheese takes pride in collaborating with local non-profits in a bid to help improve the local community. In 2019, the employees of the cheese plant engaged in several opportunities with local community partners and provided much-needed aid through volunteering opportunities, donations and fundraisers.
Southwest Cheese partnered with a number of non-profits including the local chapter for the Salvation Army. This organization provides food, humanitarian work and financial aid to those in need in the community. They count on volunteers and donations in order to make this happen and South West Cheese was happy to partake in assisting this worthy cause.
Starting the end of November and continuing through December, the Salvation Army collected donations in their ‘red kettles’, providing the largest portion of the organisation’s donations for the year. This year, they relied heavily on volunteers to collect these donations and the Southwest Cheese team turned out in droves to answer this call.
Southwest Cheese sponsored a Red Kettle Day where employees and their families came together to “ring the bell” and collect donations. The benefits of this event were two-fold as employees had a great time helping out with this cause and the Salvation Army was thankful to have such a great result.
