This year’s Great Pink Run with Glanbia has raised €650k for breast cancer research. 270 Glanbia employees from across our global operations took part in this year’s virtual event, helping to turn the globe pink for breast cancer awareness over 17th – 18th October.

Aisling Hurley CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland said: “We are delighted to have had over 8,300 people participate in this global event. Funds raised now stand at €650,000, which will greatly enhance our research efforts into metastatic breast disease – a challenging area, and one that requires continuous investment. Breast Cancer Ireland along with the USA charity Research a Cure, are making progress with new clinical trial drugs into areas of metastasis, but there are still challenges.

Your support over the years has greatly helped efforts to transform this disease from often being fatal to a treatable illness that can be maintained long-term.”

There are already plans in the pipeline for a ‘hybrid’ event for 2022, where physical events will be hosted along with a virtual event.

Huge thanks to our Glanbia employees for getting behind this worthy cause and for sharing pictures of families and friends on their run or walk.
