Two devastating earthquakes hit south-eastern Turkey near the Syrian border on Monday, February 6. We are deeply shocked and saddened by these events where currently over 30,000 people have lost their lives and tens of thousands are missing, injured and without shelter.
As an organisation committed to delivering better nutrition and giving back to our communities Glanbia is pledging €100,000 to support the immediate relief and recovery efforts. We are donating to organisations who are on the ground distributing food, clean water, shelter, blankets, medical supplies, and providing vital healthcare services.
The images and stories emerging from the affected areas are truly harrowing and true to Glanbia’s spirit of humanity, many of our people reached out to ask if there is anything they can do to support. We have set up a fundraising page to support the humanitarian work of the International Red Cross: https://www.givengain.com/activist/579438/projects/58018/#timeline
The funds raised will go directly to the International Red Cross and will help those affected get food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter and blankets. If you would like to support this cause, please feel free to do so directly.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with everyone impacted by these events and the tragic aftermath, including those in our own Glanbia community.
