We marked World Mental Health Day on October 10th as an opportunity for us to pause and reflect on the importance of nurturing mental health and wellbeing. This initiative created by the World Health Organisation as a special opportunity to remind us that although the mind and body are often viewed as separate, mental, emotional and physical health are closely related. A positive mental state can keep us healthy, help boost energy and improve overall wellbeing.

Research has shown that there are a number of little things we can do to help keep ourselves healthy. Mindfulness, eating well, active lifestyle, socialising and sleep all contributes to how we feel throughout the day. So, on this World Mental Health Day, we encouraged our colleagues to complete some small wellbeing activities that are easily undertaken every day for a healthier mind, whether you're a desk worker or working in a role where you're always on the go.

In addition, we hosted a number of on-site activities in our HQ at Glanbia House in Kilkenny and in our Waterside office in Dublin to mark this important day. Former Olympian David Gillick spoke to employees about his journey with his mental health following his retirement from athletics and told us how he coped with difficult times in the wake of this decision aged just 30.

Thanks to all our teams globally for getting involved.
