Glanbia’s extensive expertise in quality control laboratories and testing capabilities is an advantage for our customers and reflects our leadership in quality and food safety. 

We manufacture brands and ingredients that meet the highest standards of food safety and quality and we continuously strive for better. We completed a successful laboratory expansion project at our Aurora 948 facility, Chicago, Illinois. Full laboratory performance and expanded capabilities were rolled out in 2022 under the Lab Excellence programme.

Our Aurora site is an excellent example of Glanbia's quality testing capabilities. The site conducts over 6,000 routine quality tests per month to assure food safety, nutritional and product label standards are met. The laboratory team also conducts specialised testing in contaminants, restricted substances and advanced sensory analytical methods.

As well as this, our team in Glanbia Nutritionals initiated a laboratory project in Idaho to service our dairy facilities. The laboratory in Twin Falls, Idaho will be up and running in Q2 of 2023. This laboratory will have the capacity to process over 30,000 tests per month across our dairy, whey and specialty products and is working towards ISO certification for a full microbiological suite of testing.
